Remarks & Notes
Back To Back Phase III DMs. On Sunday, May 12, 2024, Amtrak Train 261 was led by P32AC-DMs AMTK 703 and 708 back to back, seen getting ready to depart Moynihan Train Hall/New York Penn Station in New York, New York for Albany-Rensselaer, New York. The standard Empire Service consist uses only one locomotive, in this case the second locomotive was assigned to the train for post repair road testing. Seeing it in this position is very unusual, and evokes the appearance of a classic long distance train.
