Remarks & Notes
With Burg Katz in the foreground an evening Frankfurt to Koblenz local has just left the Loreley tunnel beside the River Rhine hauled by a class 143 Bo-Bo electric. On the cliff above the tunnel is the Berghotel auf der Loreley while on the spit of land nearly reaching Burg Katz is a statue of the Rhine maiden who lured sailors onto the trecherous rocks. On the far left (west) bank of the river a double ICE consist approaches St.Goar.
