The Baldwin 60000: The cab of the mighty beast! Take note the two large cylinders coming out of the top of the backhead - this was part of the innovative "water-tube boiler". As the hottest part of a locomotive boiler is the firebox, it was an effective design to use a water-tube design here and a conventional fire-tube boiler as a pre-heater in the usual position.
