Bound for Robertsdale. An EBT hopper train passes the coal tipple and water plug at the south end of the Orbisonia Yard, enroute to the mines near Robertsdale, PA. Although EBT's historical track is still in place south of this point, for all practical purposes, the present-day EBT pretty much ends a few hundred feet behind the photographer. The track is maintained only from the yard at Orbisonia, north about 5 miles to Colgate Grove. Beyond those limits in either direction, the ROW is overgrown with brush. It is not uncommon to find stout trees growing up between the rails and in some cases, right through abandoned rolling stock!
A look at the one-time coal-hauler, which ran as a tourist railroad for decades and finally ceased operations in 2011. The album includes photos from an October 2010 charter as well as images from the very last Fall Spectacular in October of 2011.
