Remarks & Notes
Something not often seen: A narrow-guage steam railway running right through the middle of a prime tourist destination. One thing I have noticed is people really don't seem to "get" railroad safety around here. The railway is used like a sidewalk in many places, including here, as evidenced by the fabric laid down on the roadbed. The locomotive, #3 or "Myrtle" is being used in place of #1 "Anaka," due to it being "very sick," as the guide on the train put it. As of Feb. 2015, the railway is inoperative, and has been since the last run on August 1st, 2014. However, it is under new ownership, with plans to hopefully restart operations by late 2015.
