Remarks & Notes
After all of the initial excitement of the NS/ INTERSTATE ES44AC rollout had been completed...and most everyone left for lunch while the sun climbed high into the sky General Electric Fleet Program Leader Michael Wert fired up the unit so the unit could be placed into service. During the initial operation the GEVO 12-cylinder power plant is put through a controlled cycle to make sure everything is set in its proper place. In the image Micheal is giving a visual inspection to make sure everything is working as expected. All too often we forget about what is inside the colorful skin of each locomotive and the work of hundreds of people from all over the world to bring this locomotive to life. This locomotive was proudly built by the fine folks of General Electric in Erie, PA. Paint and lettering was completed by the Norfolk Southern paint shop in Chattanooga TN under the watchful eye of Bob Saxton.

Roundhouses, waiting rooms, offices, platforms, carpeted aisles, and other places. One catches these at their trade, both on and off the clock.
