FMG SD70ACe #709 was positioned outside in the sun late this afternoon for some beauty shots. This unit is the first of eleven units that will be completed in November 2012. 709 is the lead unit for this order and carries the FMG colors with great pride. In just a few weeks the 709 and its brothers will begin their journey to Australia where they will haul iron ore for the rest of their lives. This locomotive is proudly assembled and painted by the folks of Progress Rail Locomotive Assembly in Muncie, IN. Brass models of this locomotive will be offered by Overland Models.
