BNSF Railway owns nine NRE 3GS21C locomotives, and on August 17th, 2013, 1307 and 1303 were working at the railroad's Hobart Yard. BNSF 1307 was built by NRE in Paducah, Kentucky, in August 2010 from SD40 GN 6319, ex-BNSF 6319, nee-BN 6304. (The GN reporting marks are used by the BNSF for locomotives that are due to be disposed of in order to clear up roadnumbers to reuse for other power.) BNSF was also built by NRE in Paducah, using SD40 GN 6316, ex-BNSF 6316, ex-ATSF 5018, nee-ATSF 1718.
