Remarks & Notes |
The calm before the storm. The morning sun filters through the tall stand of Maine Woods as WW&F Engineman Dana Deering and Fireman Gordon Cook take a few moments to relax in the cab of #10. They've just spent their last 3 hrs getting the locomotive ready for the day's schedule of passenger trains. It's the museum's Annual Picnic Weekend, so they're anticipating a good crowd and heavy trains. Then there is the little matter of an evening photo freight that's scheduled around the dinner hour. By the time the freight gets back, they'll only have a few minutes to drop their fire before the clock will expire on their day. I'm guessing that someone else is going to get stuck putting the freight cars away tonight. |
