A home-road boxed in Fairmont speeder contrasts with one of the two greatest speedsters in USA interurban history. On the Chicago, North Shore & Milwaukee, Electroliner MU 803-804 did 5 round trips a day between it's carrier's namesake cities and did so at 90 MPH day, in and day out. The speed, reliability and friendliness (not to mention the famous "Electroburgers" served in the lounge) of the North Shore are legendary.
Today it and it's twin in Union Il are a miracles of preservation. And before any one says anything about 803-804 condition, I know that the Rockhill Trolley Museum would gladly welcome your helping hand or generous monetary donation.
