Remarks & Notes |
An Amtrak Acela Express roars through the elevated ROW through the city of New Brunswick, NJ. The tracks were raised by the forward thinking PRR in 1903. The Pennsy did this in many locations along what is now known as the North East Corridor in order to effect increased speeds and improved safety. In 2011, Amtrak embarked on a project to increase speeds from 135 mph to 160 mph starting at this point and continuing south to Trenton, NJ. |
