Union Pacific SD70ACe 8869 and SD70Ms 4832 and 4442 lead train KLBDUD 12 (Priority Intermodal, Long Beach CA to Dupo IL, Detoured train requiring 1500-mile inspection) speeds through little Echo, Utah (with a population of just 56 in the 2010 Census) on March 14, 2015. Echo was once an important servicing facility on the original Transcontinental Railroad, where engines could take on coal and water as they prepared to tackle scenic Echo Canyon, just ahead for the KLBDUD 12. Dieselization after World War II has made Echo not much more than a ghost town today.
