Remarks & Notes
NS G66 is framed up by the old loading bay of the caoling tower at Raymond, GA on a sunny Sunday morning. Raymond used to be an important junction on the Central of Georgia railroad, where the line to Columbus split off from the Chattanooga to Macon mainline. There was a small yard here and a coaling tower for steam locomotives, built in 1926, indicated by the date molded into the concrete. Nowadays, Raymond is nothing but a point on a map. The line to Columbus was abandoned years ago and the mainline, which is now cut at Senoia, only sees service a couple times a week.
