How I spent my third anniversary: Southern Pacific GS-4 class 4-8-4 4449, with SP SD40E 7342 as a helper, crosses Stenner Creek Trestle as it blasts its way up Cuesta Grade out of San Luis Obispo, California. This train, dubbed the World's Fair Daylight, is returning home to Portland, Oregon, after visiting New Orleans, Louisiana - home of the 1984 World's Fair. (As for my wife, who allowed me to railfan on our anniversary? We're still married after over 35 years!) (* - With apologies to Stephen Sondheim. And, actually, it was a Wednesday, not a Sunday. And more of a cow pasture, not a park...)
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
