Train Day! As reflected by the banner, the Hub City Railroad Museum is hosting a train day on May 20 for kids from 3 to 93. The museum is located at the Spartanburg, SC depot and includes an old restored Southern Railroad caboose. This caboose reportedly was made in the Hayne Car Shops in Spartanburg in 1947 out of an old box car, spent much of its life in and around Nashville, TN, then was restored and displayed in Spartanburg, SC where it rests today. To the right, a volunteer is helping with cleaning and painting the museum for the event.
Selected photos of locomotives, passenger cars, and rolling stock in the Southern's livery as well as other assets once belonging to or used by the Southern.
