RTD (Regional Transportation District) in Denver, Colorado, is building another commuter line in the metro area with the N Line, referred to as the North Metro rail line during construction. The first 13 miles of the proposed 18.5 mile heavy rail commuter line will provide service from Union Station through Denver, Commerce City, Thornton, Northglenn, and eventually to north Adams County. The same electric commuter rail cars (Silverliner V) used on the A line to the airport and G line to Wheat Ridge will be used on this line. In this view, a new double track “flyover” bridge is being constructed alongside BNSF’s 23rd Street locomotive facility over the Denargo wye connecting tracks to Union Pacific as seen on May 14, 2017. Interestingly, the bridge is being constructed complete with tracks, even though the approaches have yet to be started. Reminds me of a snap track model railroad bridge being built!
