In extremely thick and frigid fog, the caboose of a Santa Fe westbound disappears with the rest of its train into the mist at Cable Crossover. The photographer is unsure if such thick fog is a common occurrence this high up on the mountain, but this is the only time he's experienced it this close to the summit--and never before this dense.
