It is rare to see a northbound train through Grove City during daylight hours. But here, CN 5422 leads a northbound train of empty ore cars, bound for the docks in Conneaut, right through the middle of town. Although CN owns this line, the line is still operated like a short-line and standard cab EMDs are the usual power for ore trains.
The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service over several decades.
