As a passing thunderstorm drops rain outside across the Orange Empire Railroad Museum's (OERM) grounds, nice and dry inside a true gem of the Santa Fe Railway glistens as it awaits the final touches before its big reveal. ATSF 108, an FP45 built in December of 1967, has undergone an extensive rebuild by a small but extremely dedicated group of OERM volunteers over the past 3-4 years. Once complete, the unit will pull regularly scheduled passenger trains across the museum's trackage and offer another reason for railfans across the country to visit this Southern California gold mine for preserved railroad artifacts.
