The final Rio Grande Zephyr has arrived at Grand Junction, Colorado, but there is no hurry to service the locomotives. Due to a huge mudslide that has severed the Rio Grande main line at Thistle, Utah, the few passengers who were ticketed beyond Grand Junction are boarding a bus for the remainder of their journey. The train and the many railfans that arrived on it are captive in Grand Junction until late the next afternoon.
