Remarks & Notes
PTC Compliant: Northeast Corridor Line Train 3864 approaches Trenton near sunset with an odd consist. NJ Transit is using this unusual configuration because ALP-46 #4600 is one of many NJ Transit locomotives that does not yet have operational Positive Train Control equipment. Since NJ Transit has an abundance of PTC-enabled cab cars, it has taken the unusual step of sandwiching non-PTC-enabled locomotives behind a leading cab car and ahead of the rest of the consist on a few trainsets.

Cab cars are special built coaches that are heavier than normal and have a cab for push/pull operations. This also includes NPCUs, but not road slugs.
