Remarks & Notes
Every February Tanfield railway host four Sundays of freight running as well as their regular passenger timetable. Week one saw 0-4-0 No 2 hauling a short hooper train to replicate this line when it was in British Railways' ownership in the early 1960's. What they cannot reproduce is what this area looked like at that time. To the right of the locomotive was a two road engine shed and the corresponding lines necessary to reach it. One small length of track is still intact. On the left of the locomotive was the turntable for the shed. The pit for the turntable is still there but the remainder of the structure is long gone.
