With 6600 foot of extra traffic, this extra 338 rolls off into the setting sun east of Independence. The train is climbing out of Independence on the CN Dubuque Sub 26 miles east of Waterloo. Don't see many X338s anymore since CN can run up to 14,000 feet with the daily scheduled manifest 338 train into Chicago, but traffic will warrant it once in awhile. Run thru NS power off an empty ethanol train heads up the train bound for Kirk Yard in Gary, IN.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
