Inyo takes a few laps. Just a few minutes before the conclusion of train operations on the final day of the July, 2022 "Great Western Steam-Up" at the Nevada State Railroad Museum, Virginia & Truckee Locomotive #22 "Inyo" runs one of her last laps around the loop track with V&T Coach #4 in tow. On the throttle is long-time NSRM volunteer Loren Jahn. Despite the direction in which the flags and smoke were blowing, this train is indeed moving forward. The Carson City area was experiencing strong westerly winds and temperatures in the upper 70s during most of the afternoons of this 4-day event, which made the July 4th weekend rather pleasant from a comfort standpoint. Folks who have been to the NSRM Independence Day events in the past know well that it can be 100 degrees in Carson City in July.
