The mighty Southern Pacific has faded into history, and any hint of the railroad currently is subtle and usually hard to find. Only a few locomotives carry SP colors on the Union Pacific today, if you can call the paint on UP GE AC4400CW No. 6318 having much color. The locomotive leads an eastbound unit oil train on the railroad’s Moffat Tunnel Subdivision, and is waiting for a new crew at Pinecliffe, Colorado, on March 19, 2024.
