If you notice closely, the old tunnel on the right has a flat marble piece right in the center. It has some old engraved lettering of some sorts. Once, while working the CSX in 2006, the engineer and I stopped here while waiting approach into Wauhatchie yard. We got off the train and walked on top of the tunnel to see if we could read the sign. We could not tell what it said. Perhaps NC&StL...don't know. Time has worn down the lettering, but it says something.
