Loco #3137 has two radio antennas indicating being equipped to work with mid-train helpers. later Southern reversed the colors of the number boards to help crews identify the radio master units.

It would have had white boards with black numbers. In 1985 they started to install the second antenna for EOTs. Locotrol master engines had 3 antennas, 4 after EOTs. One for Radio, 1 for EOT and one each for transmit and recieve to the "Slave Units"
