Are you sure the photo was taken in 1975. I was stationed in Pope AFB (Fayetteville, NC) and the paint scheme on 76 was adopted in the 1985/86 time frame.

I just took another look at the slide ... November 1975 is correct. I was also stationed at Pope AFB, but in the mid-1970s, which is when I shot this.

Great shots, Douglas. I hate I missed this era on the LRS. I was too young to fan back in the 70s, but if what I remember from reaing is correct, the 109 had it's cab painted blue and was renumbered #76 in 1976 and later went back to #109 with the standard red and whit LRS scheme. In the 80s, the #107 was red and white and lettered for L&S sister road the Fairmont & Western.
