What I want to know is why there's a narrow gauge CP boxcar on the rock in the first place!

Is that a standard gauge boxcar with narrow gauge trucks??? I usually build Burlington Northern, UP, and ARR standard gauge, plus WPY narrow gauge, and plan to connect them with an Alaska RailBelt Marine barge. I recently picked up a G8 just because I thought that this would make a neat addition to my Sn3 operation. Looking at that boxcar, I'm wondering if it's merely a standard gauge boxcar with narrow gauge trucks?

It is a standard gauge car. To avoid having to unload and load cars repeatedly, CN operated a shop near the Newfoundland ferry terminal where a car would be lifted off its trucks and narrow-gauge ones would replace them. The standard gauge trucks were marked with that car's number and saved for when it returned.
