How far away were the head engines of the eastbound tanker train? And, great shot, I do a lot of railfanning in the Altoona/Gallitzin area and I just wish I could get some shots as well composed as this one. My vote for POTW.

Just barely visible around the bend you can see a buffer car between the tanks and the head end power. There was another buffer car between the helpers and the tanks as well, but it was the longest train of tank cars I had ever seen..

OK, thanks. In all my days of railfanning in the Altoona/Gallitzin area, I don't think I have ever seen a tank train as long as this one. Nice shot!

The tank train is mostly like 68J, a unit tank train of 80-100 cars. Its eastbound counterpart is 69J, about the same lenght.
