I used to assemble Hi-Rail trucks near this location, and rail tested them here. It was always an adventure, wondering where the rails were.

Thanks for the comments. It was fun, that was at about 8am, the rails were slick with dew, plus we had a 180 degree curve to lug them around. And if you think the track is bad, walking the cut of cars to make air lines and all was like a jungle trek!

I am a former central Illinois railroad Engineer. Wait till you work the lumber District down town or South Chicago Heights!! Hobos camping in the middle of the tracks!
