This 2-8-2 is the same model locomotive that is parked at the depot in my town. The locomotive here in Hattiesburg, Mississippi is number 300 from the local short line (Bonhomie, Hattiesburg, and Southern). BH&S number 300 was driven under it's own steam and parked where it sits 43 years ago. I love this type of locomotive. Apparently they were mainly used by logging companies and western short lines. I believe they were built by Baldwin in the 1920's. If anyone out there has any type of information on this model of locomotive please feel free to email it to me as I am very interested. I can be reached at LLCranford3@aol.com. This is a great shot of a beautiful class of locomotive!!!! Keep them coming
