Very nice Andrew. You need to find a 48 star flag and do it again!

Sweet Photo. Is that detail the number of stars on the American flag?

The number of stars on the flag!

There's a few too many stars on the flag would be my guess. A wonderful photograph, Andrew - thanks for posting.

I count 50 stars in the flag, or perhaps it's the light bulb? Excellent image - nicely composed.

Thanks for the comments guys! There are some pretty intelligent folks out there as I wasn't able to stump you. ;-) The flag is exactly what gives away the date. As of 1916 there were 48 states admitted and the flag contained 48 stars. As far as I know EBT locomotives were built with light bulbs included in the cabs albeit less modern than the current one(s).

Another way to tell it wasn't 1916 is the fact that there is a white running board showing and the EBT engines were all black in freight service.
