Their rules on unauthorised train riding are obviously not as strictly enforced as in some countries!!

Might I assume that the Ford dump truck constitues the "across the platform connection?" Thanks Bob, for this insight into Ecuadorian rail transportation.

Sut Levene, how do you know that it is unauthorised ridership? Welcome to third world rail transport. Give it a try some time, I have, on that very line.

I don't know whether it's authorised or not, but on photo 158074 you can see a guy on the roof of a train on the same line trying to collect fares! Also our group rode on this line on the roof of a railbus for some distance and no-one batted an eyelid!
