So sad to see them left out like that...I'm young, 24, most were probably built before I could walk, still a fan, always will be.

The leases on all of these unts are up and they are being stored here and at other yards on the CSX system for the time being.

Are they being stored there for a specific reason?

Any idea where these units will be going after storage? Back to their leasing terminals? Other railroads?

I don't have any clue as to where or when the engines will be going after lease. I was told they came in a few at a time. It's sad to see this many SD40's and 45's just freezing in the cold instead of running the rails. Makes me happy that I shot so many of them in previous years on the mainline. Grumble...another SD45 leaser.

Many units were in storage during 2007-2009. Most are out working the mainlines again. Great shot & thanks for sharing, J J.
