Thanks for the comment! By rail, the closest town would be Toecane, which this train just passed thru a few minutes before this shot was taken. By road, it's a different story [scratches head] ...probably Loafer's Glory (which is barely a spot on the map), Bakersville, or Spruce Pine. It's a little hard to say because the roads in the area are so circuitous...it's not exactly a point A to point B affair.
