If it had a sound boiler then why did it end up on the dead line? What else was wrong with it?

Trey, all I've been told is that the shop crew found some major problems with this engine when they started to tear it down that weren't boiler related. It was decided that it was not a sound economic decision to restore it at that time. It will hopefully not stay on the deadline forever, but Cass currently has 6 engines in the operating pool to worry with, so restoring something new is on the back burner.
