These shots continue to impress, Asger. Great work again. I'm sure there are many like me on this site who are continually waiting for your next shot from Tibet. Thanks for all the elevation info...it's much appreciated. To give us a little more perspective, how many miles of this line are your shots from? Thanks again for sharing!

A answer to Nick and others: This picture is taken at altitude 12.510 feet (4.036 m) at a point 85 miles (135 km) north of endstation Lhasa. My other pictures are taken along the railway up untill the 85 miles mark north of Lhasa. The picture (photo 189.445) of the highest location was taken from a running train, position 335 miles (540 km) north of Lhasa. It seems that the railway is in a kind of testing mode, only 4 passengertrains in each direction every day. As far as I was told freighttrafic was begun only a few months ago. 1-2 freight a day. More train are planned into the next 2-5 years- it is said. ASGER
