Hi, That's an interesting shot, can anyone tell me if that is the original exhaust arrangement or have the UP Steam Team or UP made improvements since construction. Alan Crotty IEng.

I was thinking about what you said about improvements to the engine. Looks to me like they have changed the exhaust nozzles to a lempor type exhaust system.

What does the writing say on the door?

The message in the door is written in spanish and it reads: si no tienes nada que hacer no vengas a hacerlo aqui Ing. Porta. In english: If you have nothing to do, don't come to do it here signed Ing Porta. It seems that some workers like to "huevonear" in that place Nice shot thanks for sharing

That's a Lempor exhaust nozzle, which is probably why the quote from Porta is on the smokebox door. With the circulator tubes removed and a lempor exhaust added, it looks like the UP boys are doing some serious modifying of the loco!
