Excellent shot, nicely composed and balanced. I live a few minutes' walk from this location and can confirm that the shot could not be taken today because of tree growth. Indeed, I'm not sure that even the canal is visible from there now.

To follow up my previous comment on this shot, although this location is no longer viable, photo 182383 is probably the nearest equivalent, taken from the meadow directly below the canal.
