I understand all parts were disassembled and lubricated for long term storage, should NS decide to return them to excursions. I hope they will once again be under steam. I missed seeing them back in the 80's.

This is a nice shot but sad one as well. I was there to see these machines and even saw the 611 storm Saluda for the final time. Perhaps someday again...they will roll.
