I believe this is a former Quebec, North Shore & Labrador locomotive, that before coming to the Precision fleet, was a lease unit on behalf of a Canadian firm named Bellequip. Because of the harsh winters the QNS&L encountered, air reservoirs were located in the short hood, which accounts for the rooftop piping that connects them to the air compressor, which is sited in the near end of the long hood. The short hood also held an auxiliary fuel filler for use in deep snow conditions. One interesting aspect concerning the QNS&L Geeps, was their original paint scheme was a dead ringer for the F-unit scheme used by the New York, Ontario & Western.
