Nice pic...I'm cold just looking at it. Previous photos of this old girl had speculation of it going to the museum in Union, or being disassembled and shipped to a private owner in Nebraska. I guess neither came to pass.

The locomotive was sold to an individual under the agreement that it would be moved within a year, but that was over a year ago. The Tender was moved but the engine still sits on a siding in Galt, Illinois. The IRM has taken back ownership of the engine after the contract with the new owner was not fulfilled, but the new owner now has the tender in their possession. It looks like a loose/loose situation for both parties. The 8374 did make a move to Nebraska see photo http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=222958 I originally heard that the 8305 was going to Iowa. But that is no longer the case.

This track it is sitting on I believe is what's left of the old CB&Q/BN branch line from Denrock that ran up through Sterling and East through Amboy and ended at a junction with another CB&Q branch, I BN abandoned this line in about 1980
