What a tragic scene. A railway station, such as this, should be full of trains, rather than being desolate and in a state of disrepair.

Only the trainshed is in this condition, as the actual CNJ Jersey City Station building, has been beautifully restored. The original train gates, covered with tarps to hide this scene from view, still stand just beyond the bumping posts. The station has been used for a variety of events, including model train shows. And, prior to Septembert 11, 2001, the surrounding grounds offered an unparalleled view of the World Trade Center's twin towers.

Amazing that the station has never been torched, or that the aged wooden luggage trolley hasn't been nicked (only too right since it should be in a museum)! Really something special!
