So nine people ignore the still closed crossing barriers (and in one case the crossings as well) - I see only one person keen to retain their right to remain within the gene pool

This problem became a big issue on the NJ Transit system a few years back. People would ignore the downed gates and cross behind their train, thinking it was their train that activated the crossing. An incident occurred in the summertime on the Jersey Shore when a group of teenagers crossed behind their train and were struck by a train moving in the opposite direction. NJ Transit has since increased awareness of this situation, and also installed increased signage and changed train stopping positions (to block the crossing).
