This photo in vertical format should be a cover for a magazine. It's that good. Note what the shops at Altoona have done to the (A) units. First they welded a piece of stainless steel plate to the buffer in the center of the anti-climber, then they painted everything white. The idea was that the paint would not stay on the buffer and that the buffer would rust and look bad. Now when the paint gets damaged the stainless steel shows but no rust forms. I give someone extra points for finding a solution for this problem. Now all they have to do is provide a roll of Blue Painters tape and a can of white gloss spray paint to keep in the cab for a quickie touch up and these engines will always look their very best ! P.S. When did the grab irons above the windshield get to be yellow, we know they are there but is this just a bit of over doing it ?
