You may not realize it, but the (fire) engine is somewhat of a classic. It is getting harder and harder to find an American LaFrance of this vintage still in service. Looks to me like it has been refurbed and at least had its jump seats enclosed.

I'd expect to see a firetruck that old in a July 4 parade, not in actual service. Good to see that it's not just a museum piece.

I used to own a 1942 American LaFrance pumper truck. It was red.
