The unit ahead of van BCOL 1873 is CN 50554 RCM1 (ex-CN 50554 Plasser RM76 UHR ballast undercutter, s/n 226, built new in 1983). The RCM1 unit was used to move OCS cars (ballast hoppers, etc.) instead of using a conventional locomotive in work train service. The last photo I saw of CN 50554 RCM1 was when it was for sale in BC in October of 2020.
