That's not what I wanted to read = no good news for an "F" fan (me). First I saw your shot: 5 F units! GREAT! And then the cold shower, that this will be over :-( That's sad news, but we will have to be happy that they just did it so far: these engines are rolling pieces of history!

I have to admit my heart dropped when I read that also, then I noticed you said the line may be scrapped but the Fs are being sold. I hope their buyer has more noble intentions for them!

These cats have 9 lives. Lets hope they haven't used them up.

Doesn't seem like this line was in operation very long. What about all the side dump cars? Hate to say it, but at 1750 HP each, 3 sd40-2's could could do more with less maintenance than 5 engines. Anyone have any video of these engines in consist?

Great ligthing and color you captured in that scene, Dave. Sad news about the power and the line's future, though. Thanks for capturing something that is never to be "scene" again.

Great shot but sad news, Dave. In my few trips to northern MN, I never got the chance to see them run. I always said, "Next time, next time..." Guess there won't be a next time.

Great perspective and light. The absence of leaves and visible snow add poignancy to the finality of this show.
