Nice Mars Light! Never seen one on a diesel before. Unusual Placement of the horn, too. Nice Catch!

North Western used a variety of signal lights on its early diesels, with several having this type, many having a smaller version and still others with larger designs, used mostly on RS3s, that were taken from retired steam locomotives. Some "Omaha Road" siblings actually had standard dual Mars light housings like NKP, L&N and SP used on Geeps. The single-bell horn location is actually from EMD's original design application, while on the other side, the horn was similarly applied to the hood, just aft of the forward radiator set. The later adoption of more exotic types generally moved the horns to the roof.
